1.) Do you paint your toenails? If so, which colour?

Always RED… it’s so feisty and just works with everything.

2.) Can you solve a Rubix Cube?

NO… not for lack of trying though!

3.) What do you do on Sunday nights?

Sundays are my days to recharge and to prepare for the upcoming week, so I like to make a roast or a stew, something that takes long to cook and fills the house with delicious smells. I like to do meal prep for the week, like make a quiche or soup for the week ahead.

I usually potter around in the garden and water the plants too, and try to make time to sketch or just doodle in my sketchbook. On really lazy Sundays I like to just kick back and watch my favourite series. On Sunday nights I like to be nowhere other than the couch with a movie and my hubby.

4.) What do you hate about social media?

Social media is such a necessary evil [grinning face emoji]! It just takes so much of your time. I’ve deleted Facebook from my phone and limit myself to scroll meaninglessly down my timeline. I don’t even want to make the calculation of how much time has been lost by spending it on social media and we could have spent so much more meaningful time with loved ones. The challenge is to use it strategically for work, that’s why it’s confined to office hours.

5.) Where would you most like to live?

We are luckily enough to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Here in South Africa we have some great people and so much talent that I am very happy right here where I am in Cape Town. See my 10 reasons I love living in Africa here. I wouldn’t mind travelling the world though…

6.) What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done?

Paragliding off Lion’s Head – it was incredible! I also hiked the Camino de Santiago in Spain in 2014. 200kms in 10 days is not for the faint-hearted but it was a magical experience, particularly on a spiritual level.

7.) Can you crochet?

Yes, my mom taught me the other day and I crocheted a lovely bath mat for us.

It is surprisingly easy and I found it to be quite therapeutic.

8.) What does water taste like?

Refreshing and revitalising. And more so with each sip these days, as it is becoming such a scarce resource. I’ve designed a limited-edition art print around this issue. The tongue-in-cheek message “If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down” is a call to action. Think twice before you flush, because a single flush uses as much as 11 litres of clean drinking water!

9.) What was the last book you read?

10% happier by Dan Harris – A story about a newscaster who has a panic attack on live television and is then forced to re-evaluate what’s important to it. It’s about his journey in life and how this led him to meditation.

10.) What is your favourite quote?

Live a meaningful life with less – Joshua Fields Millburn (The Minimalists) Download the free wallpaper for your desktop or iPhone if you dig it.
